Solo

From the time that he was a teenager, Andy Krikun has performed both as a solo artist and with bands, including Andy and the Rattlesnakes, the Klownz, Blazing Wheel, and Urban Artillery, sharing the stage with acclaimed musicians from a variety of genres including Lucinda Williams, John Densmore of the Doors, John Hiatt, Arthur Lee of Love, Black Flag, and the Minutemen. He was inspired to become a singer-songwriter as a teenager, following in the footsteps of his influences: Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Phil Ochs and others. Later influences included fellow New Jersey natives Patti Smith and Bruce Springsteen, along with soul and R&B artists such as Otis Redding, reggae artists such as Bob Marley, and the British punk/new wave artists including Graham Parker, Elvis Costello, the Clash and two-tone bands such as the Specials, the English Beat, and Selecter. He has performed at storied venues including the Troubadour, the Whisky a-Go-Go, the Roxy, and the Ash Grove in Los Angeles, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, Folk City and the Bitter End in New York City, as well as local venues including the Debonair Music Hall, the Lafayette Theatre, and the Turning Point.

In April 2024, he combined spoken word excerpts from his memoir, “Last Summer to Dance,” with a selection of his original songs, for the theatrical premiere of his show, “Where Have I Been All These Years?” at the Anna Maria Ciccone Theatre and Bergen Community College. He continues to perform his original songs mixed in with his favorite cover tunes, accompanying himself on guitar, piano, and harmonica, often accompanied by an eclectic cast of guest musicians from a variety of musical genres including jazz, rock, world music, folk, country, and bluegrass.
